The TC10K start line is at Government and Belleville Street between the Empress Hotel and the Provincial Legislature.
The TC10K will celebrate its 29th year on April 29, 2018. The TC10K is certified by BC Athletics and attracts an excellent field of elite runners as well as thousands of participants that register as part of a team or as an individual.
Starting in downtown Victoria beside the BC Legislature the course winds through the downtown core, and residential areas before circling around to Dallas Road and the water where the route hugs the shoreline for the last 4 km of the race. The sprint to the finish line is fast and straight with the back drop of the Legislative Buildings.
While we have had a half marathon the last two years, after much discussion and consultation with members of the community, our board has decided to eliminate the half marathon distance from the event this year, and thus focus our time and resources to hosting the very best and FUN 10K and 1.5K distances. Our mission is to engage as many people from our community at whatever level they feel comfortable, to live a happier and healthier lifestyle.
The TC10K is hosted by the Victoria International Running Society, a non-profit group that supports and organizes many of Vancouver Island’s track and field athletes and events. It is proudly presented by long time supporters, the Times Colonist newspaper (TC).
The TC10K is organized by the Victoria International Running Society and is Canada’s second largest 10-kilometre race. In 2010 the TC10K broke two records – it had the largest number of registrations at 13,508, and recorded more finishers than any previous race – 10,850.
The Running Festival includes a 1.5km Family Run and the 10k. Online registration is now open. For more information call: 778-677-5786 or firstname.lastname@example.org
