Victoria Day Parade
Celebrated every year on the last Monday before May 21, Victoria Day is a Canadian public holiday in honour of Queen Victoria’s birthday. For many, the date also informally marks the beginning of the summer season and the Annual Victoria Day Parade.
As the Island Farms Victoria Day Parade is the largest parade of the year in Victoria, there is no better place to spend your Victoria Day holiday than here! (see images from past years here via bradedwards.ca)
Previous years parades have featured approximately 150 parade entries – including Canadian and American marching bands, musical floats, cultural entries and festive clowns – and attracted tens of thousands of attendees.
The parade begins at 9 a.m. on Victoria Day every year and lasts for approximately three hours. The route begins at Mayfair Shopping Centre and winds its way along Douglas Street, before ending at Humboldt Street.
