2017 Rock The Shores – Cancelled

West Shore Parks and Rec Lower Fields
All Ages

This July 21-23, Rock The Shores returns to Colwood, BC. Taking place on West Shore Parks and Rec’s lower fields, the event features world-class talent in a premium festival setting.

Rock The Shores Cancelled for 2017July 21 – 23, 2017

In a note posted on Facebook, the announcement of the cancellation of the 2017 Rock The Shores:

“Dear friends and music lovers, we have made the very difficult decision to postpone this year’s festival. The good news is we’ll be back next year!

Over the past five years we have enjoyed building the event to what it has become. We are proud of every artist we have booked, and we are so grateful to everyone who has helped us along the way, first and foremost our ticket buyers!

Our goal from the beginning was to build THE annual rock festival for Islanders, and we remain 100% committed to this. The present year in particular has presented multiple challenges towards achieving this goal – challenges that threaten to undermine the future and viability of the event. These include the limited availability of suitable headline talent coupled with increasing market saturation and competition in a year of national celebration.

So, rest assured the journey is far from over. We will keep everyone posted.

Please visit www.rocktheshores.com for ticketing options.”

Diner en Blanc combines a beautiful, iconic outdoor venue with the sophistication of a gourmet picnic.

On the evening of the event, guests gather at specific departure points around the city. Guided by Dîner en Blanc volunteers, these groups will then converge on the secret location travelling on foot and by coach. Every guest brings their own table, chairs and table setting. Guests may get creative and pack their own gourmet picnic. There are also options for guests to purchase wine from the Dîner en Blanc e-store or to choose a catered option from The London Chef, returning for the 5th year to provide three catered food options.

Highlights of the evening include the waving of a cloth napkin to mark the beginning of the dinner, the lighting of the sparklers, and a disco after the event.

Tickets are based on invitations. Sign-up for the waiting list here:

About Dîner en Blanc

Launched in Paris in 1988 by François Pasquier, Dîner en Blanc has become a worldwide phenomenon celebrated on five continents. Dîner en Blanc – Paris now attracts nearly 15,000 people each year.

While the technology behind the event may have changed over the years, the principles fuelling this fantastic event have not: guests continue to gather at a secret location for the sole purpose of sharing a gourmet meal with good friends in one of their city’s most beautiful public spaces.

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Montreal, Canada, Dîner en Blanc International is responsible for developing this secret posh picnic in over 50 cities in more than 20 countries around the world. Each event is headed by passionate local organizers who fell in love with the concept and wanted to bring it to their city, giving this rendezvous a local flair.

Juice-Breakwater Barge

Greater Victoria Harbour Authority presents The Breakwater Barge.
Join us Friday June 23rd from 5PM to 9:30PM for JUICE. (dj set) for funk filled dance party.

From the ever-burgeoning club scene of BC’s hidden gem, Victoria, comes Ryan “Juice” Walton. Juice has built a small empire being the go-to party starter of the island and his efforts have landed him gigs from Shambhala with Smalltown DJs to sharing the stage with acts like Bun B, Mat the Alien, The Funk Hunters, Skratch Bastid, & A Tribe Called Red. Juice won’t be pigeonholed into any genres though. You can catch him rocking a pool party, playing funk, soul & disco late night, or at the club bangin’ rap or late night bass to the wee hours. His rep is growing just as fast as the dancefloors in front of him, definitely a Canadian DJ to keep your eyes on moving forward. He’s not the Jack of all trades, he’s the Juice of all trades.

Local beer from Phillips Brewing & Malting Co., Driftwood Brewery & Hoyne Brewing Company. Cider from Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse and wine from the Artisan Wine Shop AWS. Food will also be on site from The Kraken by The Breakwater, Deadbeetz Food Truck, Songhees Seafood & Steam and Thrifty Foods Smile Truck.

The Breakwater Barge opens at 5PM. $2 cash admission with partial proceeds to James Bay New Horizons Society

Kids welcome. No pets or smoking on the barge.
