2017 Rock The Shores – Cancelled

ROCK THE SHORES
July 21st – 23rd, 2017
West Shore Parks and Rec Lower Fields
All Ages

This July 21-23, Rock The Shores returns to Colwood, BC. Taking place on West Shore Parks and Rec’s lower fields, the event features world-class talent in a premium festival setting.

July 21 – 23, 2017

In a note posted on Facebook, the announcement of the cancellation of the 2017 Rock The Shores:

“Dear friends and music lovers, we have made the very difficult decision to postpone this year’s festival. The good news is we’ll be back next year!

Over the past five years we have enjoyed building the event to what it has become. We are proud of every artist we have booked, and we are so grateful to everyone who has helped us along the way, first and foremost our ticket buyers!

Our goal from the beginning was to build THE annual rock festival for Islanders, and we remain 100% committed to this. The present year in particular has presented multiple challenges towards achieving this goal – challenges that threaten to undermine the future and viability of the event. These include the limited availability of suitable headline talent coupled with increasing market saturation and competition in a year of national celebration.

So, rest assured the journey is far from over. We will keep everyone posted.

Please visit www.rocktheshores.com for ticketing options.”

Guests may get creative and pack their own gourmet picnic. There are also options for guests to purchase wine from the Dîner en Blanc e-store or to choose a catered option from The London Chef, returning for the 5th year to provide three catered food options.

Join us Friday June 16th from 5PM to 9:30PM for Dylan Stone Band. Opening up the night is Spencer Kendal from Whitford Bronco.

Their sound is best described as energized and passionate. He relies on an old guitar, a bass, some skins and ivory keys, and an energy derived from their musical roots. Their live shows showcase powerful performances of their original tunes, drawing in the audience with their honesty and fragility. Their performances carry the spirit of their influences on their sleeve; The Band, Wilco, Neil Young. Stone has recruited long time friends and collaborators to round out his distinctive sound. The group of musicians share his unparalleled passion and his influences too. Led by Stone’s song-writing, The Dylan Stone Band consistently produce an honest and effusive breed of Canadian rock and roll.
