Bob Dylan is one of the most influential singer-songwriters of the 20th century whose career began in the early 1960s with songs that chronicled social issues like war and civil rights
Singer, artist, and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s, when his songs chronicled social unrest. Early songs such as “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “The Times They Are a-Changin'” became anthems for the American civil rights and anti-war movements. Leaving behind his initial base in the American folk music revival, his six-minute single “Like a Rolling Stone”, recorded in 1965, enlarged the range of popular music.
Rumour has it, that his last visit to Victoria saw him order out food from Pagliacchi’s. Perhaps this time, he’ll eat in?
VICTORIA, BC–There is a lot to celebrate at the Royal BC Museum this month: April Fool’s, National Canadian Film Day, Earth Day, Astronomy Day and the long-awaited, widely anticipated opening of the Terry Fox exhibition.
The Royal BC Museum will try its best to fool you with its annual (and insanely popular) April Fool’s scavenger hunt from March 31 to April 10. Visitors are challenged to roam our galleries and spot anachronistic artifacts, oddball animals and materials that just don’t belong. The pranks are geared for kids and adults alike, and visitors can pick up a game sheet in our lobby before they head upstairs. Participation in the hunt is included with museum admission or membership. Continue reading “Spring into activities at the Royal BC Museum @RoyalBCMuseum #yyjevents”
