The Farquhar at UVic is proud to present Sebastian Gaskin in concert on March 11, 2023. Gaskin is known for his unique blend of R&B, soul, and pop music, which has earned him a loyal following in Canada and beyond. The performance marks the final concert of the season in The Farquhar at UVic’s Voices in Circle series.

Gaskin's music has been praised for its powerful vocals and emotionally charged lyrics. He has been compared to artists like Frank Ocean, Miguel, and The Weeknd, but has also carved out his own distinct sound that sets him apart from the pack. Sebastian writes and self produces music that is anything but formulaic, thanks to eclectic musical tastes and influences in R&B, Hip Hop, Metal and Punk.

During his performance at the Farquhar at UVic, Gaskin will showcase his best-known songs as well as new material from his upcoming album. Audiences can expect an intimate and unforgettable evening with one of Canada's most exciting young talents.

Gaskin is the recipient of the 2021 Western Canadian Music Award for R&B Artist of the Year and the 2021 Kevin Walters Songwriting Award. Gaskin’s debut EP “Contradictions”, resulted in headlining a cross-Canada club tour and appearances at established festivals throughout the country, including supporting artists like Common, T-Pain, and the iconic songwriter and activist Buffy Sainte-Marie. Get ready for smooth vocals, hits of hip-hop and rap, rounded out with emotive thoughtful lyrics.
