Details: Ensemble Laude is a staple of the Victoria, British Columbian, and Canadian music landscape, known for its innovative and uplifting repertoire. The choir has performed at national and international choral festivals and its seasonal concerts are a highlight of the city’s arts and culture calendar.
Also joining Ensemble Laude this season is Lumina, our new treble youth choir!
Visions, our winter concert, presents beloved works from some of the world’s most celebrated choral composers. Muusika by Part Uusberg, Falcon Carol by Stephen Chatman, and Only in Sleep by Erik Esenvalds pair with Antonio Lotti’s Kyrie, the dynamic Pakkanen by Soila Sariola,, and Kothbiro, arranged for Ensemble Laude by BC composer Alison Girvan. Our director, Elizabeth MacIsaac, has arranged various traditional and medieval pieces for Visions, including All Through the Night. Also featured are traditional Georgian and Gregorian chants, that set the air shimmering with sound.
