Canstruction Victoria on through May 14th
The 12 structures can be seen everyday during regular mall hours. Vote for your favourite structure at our info table at centre court by donation of $5 or 3 cans of food. ‘Family Can Day’ on Saturday, May 12 will include a Canstruction® scavenger hunt, local mascots and face painting. ‘Family Can Day’ will also host a community build from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. where notable members of the local community will come together with the assistance of The Dahlia Society to help build an additional structure.
This years theme is Around The World!!
All cans used in the structures, and those we receive by donation will go to The Mustard Seed.
To date, Canstruction® Victoria events have raised over 134,000 cans of food, which, in addition to monetary donations, equals approximately $387,140 worth of product and funds donated to The Mustard Seed. This has been accomplished in just 40 short days over four years!
Canstruction® is a unique charity that hosts competitions, exhibitions and events showcasing colossal structures made entirely out of full cans of food. After the structures are built, the creations go on display to the public as a giant art exhibition.
Canstruction® is put on by The Dahlia Society, a Victoria, British Columbia not-for-profit organization that provides support to local community programs, organizations and families in need. We strive to make our community a better place to live by helping those who need it most, when they need it the most.
